I'm totaly against them to, My sister and I didn't have them and we were fine without them. Saying that I don't have kids myself so I have never been in the sitution where I have had to choose. I believe in comforting a child yourslef rather than use a bit of plastic.

At first I decided I was never going to give them to my child but that quickly changed. When Jake was born, i had 13 month old sister and my mom would babysit for me alot, and she would give one to him and Lily. He got hooked on it, then Nic would give them Jake too. So then when Braelyn was born I had given up at that point fighting against it.

They are really gross if you cut them open, that why we bought new ones every other week.

there's actually new research that they may help prevent SIDs. All my kids had them and yes they have their pluses and minuses. I just always figured I can't take their thumb away but I can take away a pacifier. I only buy the Avent pacifiers with the clear backs so I can see that they are clean. I say to each their own, and whatever works for your baby is best

hey u know what. ur baby. ur choice. but my sisters baby never needed one but now that shes used to it, shes addicted to it. n that sucks!
