I like also Arwen since I saw the name in the film "Lord of the rings", but it was the name of the princess of elfs, so a name for a girl. I didn't know it could be given for a boy. Does that name exist really or is it just in the film ?

Yes, thanks for Kieran. I like it too. I like names with a K in it but my last name is also starting with a K so would it be a problem ?

Arwen is a name that JRR Tolkien made up for the Lord of the Rings and I don't think that using a K first name should be a problem

thank you for your explanation for Arwen. Are your English? Is it a name given in your country? Strangely, I saw again the film two days ago and at the end of it I thought I could call my daughter like that, and even more strangely at the same minute when the film ended (it was a DVD) and the Tv went on again, there was a programme on it on people giving strange names to their children, with the photo of a newspaper with this title : do you want to call your baby Arwen? (well, I'm translating it from the French). Don't you think the coincidence extraordinary?

I want also to point on the fact that a woman had called her three children Coca, Fanta and Pepsi. They were now young adults and were saying that they didn't want to change their names now, although they had had problems at school when youngs. What do you think of that story?

Yeah, I think it could work and I really like it for a girl There are a couple of people in my country who are called Arwen, although it's not common at all. But I'm one for unique names And no, I'm not English.

Would never name a child Pepsi though, but I imagine that if you grow up with one name it's kinda hard to change it when you're already an adult.

Thanks for your answer. I'm happy to know that there are several Arwen in your country and that it doesn't seem strange, at least for you (is it the case around you?). Where are you from, Tangerine?
