Kelig

I heard that name yesterday on a TV programme and it was for a girl. I found it not too bad as I like the name Kelly and it made me think of it and I thought it was more original. Though, I wonder if the final in "g" is not too hard. Also, I saw on another website that it wasn't a name for a girl but for a boy. Is it true or can it be for both? In the programme, they were pronouncing the final "g" but I was wondering if it was the correct way of saying that name : shouldn't the "g" been pronounced more like a "k"? or not pronounced at all?

So is it pronounced Kelig, kind of like Kellog? or Kelly-g? It's ok. I like Kellen and Kelly better, but hey it is unique and if you like it...go for it!

A name is a name. You do not have to go by the book. If it says it's for a boy, screw it. You can make it for a girl. Go for what you love. Heck, people invent names everyday. I mean think about it. Avery was originally a boy name, but you hear of more girls named Avery now. Same goes for Kelly. And names like- Dawson, Kenlee, Billie, Joey, Bailey, Riley....they could go for either sex.

When I first saw it, I thought boy, different, kind of cool, but I wouldn't use it. I don't think it works well as a girl name. Like AshleyBrooke89 said, basically a name is what the parent gives, however they spell and say it. You could name a kid Treehouse and pronounce it Birdbath if you wanted. On another side note, I had considered Kelek as a boy name and I would have pronounced it "KEL ehk". GL.
