Help with naming
By Meg 3 Months Ago
So I already had a girl name picked out that I am in love with but I feel like I should give the dad a chance for input.

This is what he gave me:
Sarai (pronounced Sair-I)
Zora (like putting the masked avenger and the little spanish explorer together, i guess)
Nyssa
Kira (pronounced k-I-ra)

Ummmm...quite different from my name of Leah Avery. How do I let him down easy about the name? And am I the only one who thinks his names are a little out there?

i agree they are a little out there for my tastes but i think as he is the father you should let him pick a name maybe add another middle name or change her middle name but thats just what i think

I agree with double A. Make lists, each of you seperatly and then try to find names you both like.

You lucky girl, to have such a creative thinking guy!!! Many women would love a little adventurist outlook in the daddy.

I just want to say, perhaps he just wants something not quite as popular right now, for his daughters name - Leah Avery. You are riding the cuspe of the wave in names, with Leah Avery. With Leah Avery, you may experience your daughter being one of many Leahs in class. Perhaps he wants a unique name - so she will stand out on her own/be distinguished from the crowd.

Perhaps consider:

Daphne Leah
Jordana Avery
Neovah Cassaundra
Zaquira (za-kee-rah)
Bellamy Leah

I say, never squash creativity.

Im not a big fan of Avery. Why don;t you choose Leah as the first name and let him choose the middle name?

Leah Sarai sounds really nice.
