So hubby and I just recently decided to start actively trying, very recently, like only one month ago. I was using the Evra patch so I took it off at the end of the cycle and never put it back on. We were under the impression that it usually took a couple months to get your cycle back on track and ovulating and all that jazz and that it would be a few months before anything happened.

Well, it has only been one month since I stopped birth control and I'm pretty positive I'm pregnant already. I've taken two pregnancy tests to be sure and both came back positive and I am going to see the doctor on Friday to confirm.

I was a little bit in shock because I wasn't expecting it to happen this quickly. Has this happened to anyone else before, getting pregnant so quickly after coming off birth control?

Also, how risky is the first trimester? I've heard that is when alot of people miscarry but is it common to miscarry in the first trimester, if it's your first pregnancy ever, or do most women go without major complications?

i got pregnant while still on birth control, so id say its possible. the first trimester is where you have the most risk of miscarriage. i made it through my first pregnancy just fine, with no complications. just relax and enjoy(ok well bear with it the first trimester), and you'll be fine. some people have very bad symptoms like morning sickness, and some have none at all, it has no bearing on the health of your baby, so dont stress yourself out. enjoy!

I had 1child and I'm now pregant coming off of the depo shot for at least a year between each pregnancy.
