Re:Confused? By DONE GOODBYE genevra 3 Months Ago Personally, I love lavender. The first thing I would do, is go to a fabric store, and look for a beautiful curtain fabric. (have them cut 2 panels at 2.5 metres each) You can then go off the colors in the fabric. Match 1 color for walls, and the lightest color for ceiling. I always start with the window covering fabric, and go from there.
Absolutely check out Overstock.com, before you buy anything for the nursery. They have beautiful cribs there, and highly reduced prices. I am so happy for you, buying a house. I just painted my future granddaughters room "Pink Garden" It is a medium pinkish mauve color. Lovely. They are using black furniture. I am sewing a flowerey valance, they have put shimmering sheers onto window. I just went Amythyst digging, and I brought her several lovely pieces of Amythyst, to set into her window display area. It will cast prisms onto her walls, and my son is building sheving in front of the windows - this is also a safety feature in a childs room. We are the kind of people, who will find a great piece, at a second hand store, like wall units with intricate designs , then I paint them, with Benjamin Moore Fresh Start primer, and Oil Based HighGloss, in a lovely Raspberry color. So pretty. My son found an antique record player, with lovely designs, gutted it, and spray painted in black. Now it is a trunk, inside storage, and be her change table. I gave them my rocker, and will sew matching blankets, Cuddle Pods, and a bunting bag. If you garage sales in your area, these are a great place to find bargains, then recreate them with paint. Cheap prices, and something a little different at these places. Be open minded, and creative. It is a lot of fun decorating, and finding deals. Go to garage sales. Also, ask you dad to build actual wooden gates at the stairways. with latches. These are the strongest, and safest way of baby proofing the stairs. Check to make the stair railings are not wider than 1 can of coke - if you can push one can of coke through the spindles, ask dad to put in fillers. A baby's head will actually go between two spindles slightly larger than a coke can. And of course, hide, staple, secure all cords. Put plugs into electrical outlets. Move all cleaners into the kitchen sink UPPER., cabinets. buy two cribs - check newspapers in For sale area, and sometimes you will find some incredible finds. Call quickly, and go get it. Also, this weekend. visit the hardware stores, ask for mistints and paint primer. If you go to Behr.com, they have an interactive forum there for choosing paint colors. Check this out, it does help. __________________________________________________________________ For Kithcen cabinets - take hardware off - prime with fresh Start. Paint with high gloss oil paint. - any color you like. So: fabric store - buy curtain fabric, buy 5 metres) by 5 metres of lace trim Blanket fabric / Ribbon Blanket trim ribbon Go to paint stores; gather mistints. several colors. Do your Behr.com research - get paint - keep colors light, pastel. Then use darker colors on furniture pieces. Go shabby chic. ___________________________________________________________________ Talk to family/friends who may want to get rid of their baby furniture now, and will not need it again. Does your yard have a fence around it? This is something you can get to evntually. You won't let them out on their own, until 6 years old. Build one fence wall a year, and when you can leave them outside by themselves, your fence will be done. My son says that his mom does not have one white wall in her house, and he's right. You can get brochures, which have colors mixed for the photo advertised. Use these recommendations, and it will turn out beautiful. Go to wal-mart and buy a floor carpet for nursery - match to color to fabric, if at least 3 colors match it'll work in room. Anyway, you have alot of work ahead. Keep me in touch. Hire a yard man. I use one. It is the cheapest $25.00 bucks I spend on Saturdays, to make my yard look gorgeous. and I am not stressed by doing this. He will come back, when he thinks it needs trimming. I also hired a maid, who would come in once a week (Monday) to put house back into order. Do laundry, clean bathrooms, sterlize door locks. Wash floors. Its a great treat to get used to. Well, tell us your possession date. and how things are going. Did you say your mortgage payment was a wopping $20.00??? Did I misread that. Last Edit: 2008/08/30 02:41 By DONE GOODBYE genevra.

By sfb27 3 Months Ago Congrats on finding a home to buy!
You will have so much work and so much fun making it just the way you want it. Color ideas for girls' nursery: bright turquoise and lime green seems to be a popular color combo in some stores; and maybe a 3rd color (a bit of yellow? or pink?) I've seen some bedding in pinks/browns, pink/yellow, or red/yellow combos that are pretty, too. You may not want to wallpaper because it's harder to change later if your child has different ideas for their room when older. Some fun fabrics and kids' wallpaper from sample books can also be turned into inexpensive wall art when framed. Good luck!

Re:Confused? By NYC 3 Months Ago Im sorry! I was very hormonal! I had found bedding for 20.00 and I was thinking about it! My monthly payment is 3,099. It is a really beautiful apartment and it is in a great neighborhood. I know my dad would LOVE to make gates for my home. He will be flying in to help me move, and my best friend (and the girls future godmother) will also be helping me.
