Music is the best way to go. It works for some and others not as much but give it a try. It usually soothes the mind. Good Luck.

A good book to check out at the library or to buy at the bookstore is "Babywise". It doesn't hurt for the little one to cry 10-15 minutes if he/she is not hungry, wet, or sick.

Letting a baby cry excessively, really is not good for them. Crying can cause Hernias, and I always suggest using a Snuggly, soft music and they learn the routine. Get a bedtime routine in place, as soon as you can, so they learn your system.

Thats wonderful to hear. I was just haunted thinking there was this one little baby just crying and crying and you walking round and round your house, shaking your head, cussing. (Yes, I am a very vivid, creative thinker, sorry) Now I feel assured that you have it under CONTROL!!! Yeah. Hoy to you mamma!!! High fives!

My daughter Jane cried a lot as a a baby and into toddlerhood. We thought she was colic, but our pediatrician thought not, when she was 4 mos old and still crying the whole night, I got worried.
When she was about 6 mos it got better but the crying came back, in a panic I took her to Children's Hospital one night, where they ran a series of tests on her can came to the conclusion nothing was wrong.
No to long after that I had twins, Jane would cry so much that she would have to sleep with her daddy in the basement because she would wake the babies, and everyone knows one crying newborn is a lot but two and crying toddler is too much. One night my husband gave up with trying to put her in the crib to put her to bed and slept with her on his chest.
It worked.
I guess she was just cold because since then she sleeps with a blanket a warm up every night she's 4 now.
