I think the appropriate time to start having sex is when you yourself feel mentally and physically ready.

I myself think its not what age but when you feel you are ready to have sex for the first time, i grew up in a religious family and always believed that i would most likely wait until i was at least 18 or i was married. i ended up having sex for the first time with my boyfriend of a year and i was 16 and one month old. i believe i was ready for this and it was a special night as it was our one year anni. i am glad i had it when i did as i dont regret the choice i made to have it earlier than what i had first planned.

but i must say its never your age its when you feel you are ready, i am a family of 5 children and all of us felt we were ready at different ages. like my eldest brother never planned to be not even years old married and a father to two beautiful girls, he has no regrets about the decisions he and his wife has made and nor has my parents who had their first child very young and now they have 5 child who are happy and living successful lives.

look when your young your dumb and yeah if everyone knew how much it hurt and the first is a peckerhead after they get what they want then no one would do it and we wouldnt have teen pregnancy you have to look at it this way kids now days are going to do what they what if there parents like it or not i know i was 14 when i got preg and if i would have known how hard it was i wouldnt have ever had sex but i did and i have a beautiful baby out of it that changed my life thats just like telling someone not to hang with the wrong crowd they are going to do it more no matter what ppl have to learn from bad choices they make in life

I lost my virginity at 14 when I was raped. After that I didn't care and went off the rails. I didn't tell anyone until about 8 months after when i'd found out I was pregnant with Lily. The rapist didn't get me pregnant thankgod it was when I went off the rails and slept with anyone and everyone. Me and Lily's father got toghter and looked after our daughter until she went to heaven. I went off the rails again and i'm pregnant. The father is still with me <3 you Logan.
I think it's a personal choice whether your ready in your maturity and whether your body is ready. The choice should never be took away from you and you shouldn't be forced into it.
Oh and to all the people who are reading this who are thinking about losing their V and having a baby. TRUST ME IT HURTS!!!

I am presently immersing myself in John Paul II's illuminating and beautiful work Theology of the Body (a life-changing read, to be sure!)along with Christopher West books on the subject of sex and marriage (I can't recommend these books enough - regardless if you are Catholic, Christian, an athiest, agnostic, or believer of another faith, these profound, enlightening, edifying, and soul-stirring, insights and reflections on sex and holy matrimony, as they are meant to be, will help to heal many wounds and misconceptions inflicted from our past, our culture, and any inner distortions we may have been exposed to).
At the risk of sounding radical, I would very much like to be open to the amazing and miraculous gift of life throughout marriage, a crucial and Life-giving aspect of our vocation, of our sacred conjugal union, that our culture has sadly rejected (that means, I desire no contraception, no sterilization, no birth control - many oral contraceptives in fact, are abortifacients and thus kill a conceived child), that Life may be had to the full. I encourage further research into these truly "sterilizing" methods our culture has fallen prey to, as well as the "contraceptive" (lifeless - anti-life) mentality we are falling victim to, which is brewing dire consequences - our own spiritual death and the demise of our unborn, "unwanted" child, through abortion and some contraceptives. Whether you're religious or not, science cannot deny these biological facts.
God's mercy and healing is there for all of us if we have fallen in these regards (never forget how much Christ Jesus loves you and how he can transform our souls into radiant beauties, into the saints we are called to be and which our world so sorely needs).

My view of sex is very skewed and I admit that I was raped by a family member for years and when it stopped I thought what the hell I haven't been a virgin since I was 6 so I had sex willingly and found that I still didn't like it and stopped until I found a guy that I really wanted. I know that I could have handled that better but I was young and extremely dumb.
