H1N1
By ashleymae 2 Years, 3 Months Ago
So i had my appointment today and i am 4 months a long. It is not my first appointment it is my 3rd. At my second appointment they gave me my flu shot but said nothing to me about the H1N1. I go to my appointment today and they said i had no choice that i had to have the H1N1 because i could get really sick if i dont. Has anyone who has had the shot have any side affects with this? With all the stuff that people are saying i am nervous about it either way. I want to be in the clear of being really sick but at the same time i dont want to have a really bad reaction from it.

i had mine at my 6 week post-natal checkup.
i had no bad side effects except a bit of a aching arm.
it was advised to me and my partner to have it as we have a new born.
as much as i wasnt sure if i wanted it or not, i def dont want my son catching swineflu, so i opted and went for it!
but it might be a different situation if i were pregnant i guess im not sure what i would do!

I will not be getting either the flu shot or the H1N1. The H1N1 especially sacres me because I feel that it was rushed out to the public and it is way too new.

I agree with the last two posts to NOT get it. Do your best to take care of yourself by getting enough sleep, washing your hands a lot, eating healthy foods, drinking enough water, taking your prenatal vitamins, etc. Stay away from crowds and sick people and get your house in order for the baby and just enjoy some extra down time at home. I would be concerned about what this new, rushed, dirty vaccine could do to your child in utero possibly. Just my two cents. Take care!

I just gave birth 2 weeks ago and went and had my whooping cough vacine and was planning on getting the swine flu one but my doctor wouldn't do it because I am breastfeeding so for a doctor to recommend having it done whilst you are still preggers is a little odd to me... I have to wait til I stop breastfeeding to have my vaccine so I would ring around and enquire a bit more before making your decisiion as my doctor said that with it being such a new drug they don't know what the side affects would be on a breastfeeding newborn and as for pregnancy that is also something they know nothing about side affects for the bub either.... I was informed that if you are planning on getting pregnant and aren't yet with child then by all means get the vaccine but whilst you are pregnant think twice because of all the uncertainties surrounding this vaccine
