Brushing baby's teeth
By happy2bme 3 Years, 10 Months Ago
My son did not get his first tooth till he was 11 months. He's now 17 months and has 7. I brush them twice a day, but I'm not sure I brush them good enough. And for how long should I brush them at a time, and how can I get him to be still? He is still for a few seconds, and then wants to grab the brush and fusses.

Of course it is always a healthy thing to do and it helps make it a good habit of doing. he is just curious. Just 20 to 30 seconds is all you really need. Its a different sensation, after you brush his teeth, let him tinker with it for a bit and try it out. Brush your teeth as well so he can see you do it too!!!!

when my kids were little I would let them brush my teeth while I brushed theirs. it can be a little scary from your end but I never got jabbed too hard lol. Also, if they get overzealous then you can be done and try again at the next brushing. Oh and my daughter preferred to brush the "teeth" her favorite doll, so I let her when I was done with hers as a reward. Hope this helps
