By luckyducky04 3 Years, 9 Months Ago
Hi everyone. Please reply to this if you have an answer!

I was artcifically inseminated 4 years ago. I'm also gay so, I decided to stay single until my daughter is old enough to undertsand the meaning of, "gay". A
nd now that my daughter is 4, she's been asking a lot of questions.

Things like, "why don't I have a daddy?"
And, "how come I don't look like you Mommy?"
Also, "How was I born?"

I NEVER KNOW HOW TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS!!! IT'S SO HARD!!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!

There are books out there
Mommy Laid An Egg: Or, Where Do Babies Come From? Author Babette Cole
Where do babies come from?

I am not sure how much your four year old will understand but you can tell you that she is well loved and that you did not find the right person to share your life with but wanted to have a child and that you were blessed to have her.

I hope that this will help you.Good luck.

Well here goes:

Sometimes, Mommies can't find just the right person to have a baby with. Thankfully, there are places that help. I wanted you so very badly. So I went where they could help me and I was so lucky, I got the best baby girl of them all. You! I had you! I was so happy when you were born, I cried and you cried. We were two happy criers!

There are all kinds of mommies and daddies and all kinds of children. Not everyone looks the same. Sometimes people look alike and sometimes they don't. We'll just have to keep checking in the mirror to see if one day 'boom' you and I will look more like each other!

Sometimes, it's hard not having a daddy like some of the other children, isn't it? Not everybody has a daddy at their house. There are a lot of boys and girls just like you. And there are some boys and girls that have no mommy just a daddy. We have a 'girls only house'. Boys can visit but they can't stay here.
I want you to know I love you enough for both a mommy and daddy! Maybe we could ask (grandpa, uncle) to help when you think you need someone that's not a mommy.
Oh, we are so lucky to have each other.

I thought I would give it a try. I hope there is something here that can help! Good luck!
