I think it's very important to chose a name that will age well and will make your child respectable amongst peers. A name like Diamond Alexis is good for a striper, not for a middle-aged business woman.

I also think that the meaning is of importance as well. Give your child a strong meaning, and I like to dig deep and investigate past people with the name. I love Irene, because 1) it sounds beautiful 2) it can age well 3) it means Peace, and the Greek Goddess of Peace was named Irene (I found that out upon investigation)
