hi

id say try not to give ur child a name that they either cant say or their friends cant say..

wen i was at school all my friends and even some of my teachers called me ella because they could never say my name right...my name is mikela MIK-EL-LA AND everyone would call me MICK-AY-LA OR MIKE-EL-LA it was really annoying and in the end i hated my name...

i also think that u should try saying ur childs name over and over and see weather or not u like it once u have said it so many times..

unnique is nice but u dnt want to go to over the top..
eg. a lady once came into my office for a checkup and her name was LaLarge cherry what a name?

and finally make sure the initials of ur childs name is appropriate
u dont want to end up having a name like Fiona Ashleigh Thompson and then not realise that your gorgeous daughters intials are FAT:
SHE WILL GET TEASED ALL HER life.

Hya,,. Really great tips everyone thankyou =]]..,. personally I think it's important to choose a few names and different mixtures of them, unless ofcourse it its a tradition, like mine must be John if it's a little boy but i love really unique names. You never know what name your baby will suit until you see it. Well thats what i think nehoo. Fer example : sometimes you look at a baby and think Charlie but their name may be Brad. So have a main idea but just remember some backups cos they might be perfect =]] xxLaurenxx

My advice would be go with something unique but over the TOP plain out weird unique. But try to stay away from names that everyone has I'm pregnant with my very first and I chose the name Gracelyn not apossed to Briana cause there will probably be a million Briana's or Ashley's so I stay away from names like those.

Parents need to realize that the names they give their children will lead them through life, not follow them. Every application they submit, every resume they distribute will introduce them to the world.

How serious do you think Diesel, Treasure, Echo, and Peaches (or Apple??) will be taken by recruiters?

Ive used names that are maybe common, but not too common
I'm not a HUGE fan of naming kids after all the family members, but hey. It's your choice I know family is importante..
So. Be unique, but to weird to the extreme.
Consider nick names, and about if all 3 or whatever initials would spell anything.
i had a friend Sarah Leighane Thomas.
SLT-when you put it together, its like slut
or my sisters name is
Breanna Caygan Hostler.
BCH-if you put it together...it can come out like Bitch.
[thank god shes married now(:]

Not too sure if i've adde this one befor ebut it just came to me.
Alos it's not something huge and it probably wouldn't detemine whether I liked a name or not but anyway, while i was growing up i like the fact that my initials sounded nice. I know this might sound a bit wierd, but it's true. A lot of my friends have initials that aren't awful or spell anything bad but I just always thought mine were pretty and had a ring to it. So I'd like my children to have firstly the names i like but I'd also try to give them initials that sound good together.
Btw my initials are LCJ. I think it flows nicely and I've always loved the name Elle and i like Elsie too. My cousin has the initials LEJ and allthough I think they looka bit wierd together, we used to like being called Ellie and Elsie and with me Elle C Jay too. Just something i liked.
