Age difference in siblings (1 viewing) (1) Guest
Age difference in siblings By happy2bme 6 Months, 3 Weeks Ago My husband and I were really hoping to have another baby around our son's second birthday or soon after, but it isn't happening so far. I have been disappointed because I always pictured our children being close. My sister and I were 3 1/2 years apart, and I remember wishing we were closer in age when we were little, because I knew others who were just 2 years apart and they were closer to each other. So I am thinking that if it's too much longer, our children won't be close. Does anyone else here have children 3-4 years apart, and what do you think about the age difference?

By ty 6 Months, 3 Weeks Ago My children are 4 years apart and still are really close. Sometimes you just have to wait because God has other plans for your family. Don't worry sometimes the best things happen when they are not planed.

Re:Age difference in siblings By lolasaurus 6 Months, 2 Weeks Ago My children will be just over two years apart, but that was a total accident. xD
My brothers and I are 12 and 10 years apart, and we're still really close.

By Will 6 Months, 2 Weeks Ago age differences dont always make a difference in the closeness of siblings. Sometimes it does no doubt but i think the kids personalities plays a much bigger role. i have five older sisters. Alexis is ten years older, Christine 8, Jessica 5, and elisbeth and meghan who have 2 years on me. Techincally i should be very close to the twins but its acutally Alexis who i have the best relationship with and meghan who im the lest closest with. In our case its totally based on personality. Ally and i have always just clicked which meg and i constantly butt heads.
3 years really isnt a big difference anyway, even 4 years isnt bad. Just try to foster a good relationship between them. do lots of family things without other children around and they will have to play with each other. try to get them interested in some of the same things so they can bond over that, and other stuff like that. Good luck in trying to get pregnant and im sure things will work out just fine.

Re:Age difference in siblings By katie05 6 Months, 2 Weeks Ago Me and my sister are 13 months apart and sometimes it is actually annoying being so close in age together. We get on well with each other but we are so totally different its crazy. I have stepbrother who is 7 years younger and a stepsister who is 5 years younger, plus a little sister who is 14 years younger. I get on well with all my siblings and i dont think that age has that much to do with it.

By cutie72005 6 Months, 2 Weeks Ago My sister and I are 21 months apart and we fought like cats and dogs growing up. We were never close. I actually think 3-4 years is better because the older sibling will be able to look foward to the baby and be excited instead of thinking the baby is going to take his/her place as the baby. The older sibling will also get to help with the new baby and help mommy change a diaper or get a toy for the baby. It will give the older child a sense of helpfulness. I am planning on waiting until my daughter is at least 3, but my husband does not want another one at all so I guess we will see. She is 7 1/2 months old now so we still have some convincing time. Just my opinion
