I don't have any babies but I was in the labor & delivery room with my aunt when she had my baby cousin (his name is Maximus). It was her 5th child and she wanted to have him all natural. She was only in labor for about 5 hours. I got to see the baby come out and it was fascinating! It was everything I thought it'd be! My aunt made it look easy, even though I know it's a lot harder than it looks. But the whole experience was just amazing! My mom asked me, "You didn't get grossed out?" And I told her, "No! Not at all!" It was pretty cool...

There are many women today that are choosing to have a "natural birth." This is a helpful article for anyone considering this option:

When I had my son, my plan was to go natural as long as I could, but I wasn't against having an epideral. I think I might have if I had not had the pitocin. I may try the next time, I'll just have to wait and see.

I gave birth to my daughter three years ago and it was just amazing. I had a difficult pregnancy with her and had some serious complications at 6 months. I actually started to go into premature labor and bled but they got everything under control, thank God. My pregnancy after that was normal and I gave birth just a little over a week early in the hospital. I was in labor for about 16 hours and went naturally. I did end up asking for something after about eleven hours because I was just a mess but I got through it without the epidural (my doctor said my body reacts badly to the epidural). My husband was there with me the entire time and did all he could to help. I pushed for about 30 minutes and ended up tearing a slightly right before she came out but it was all so worth it. When they laid my daughter on my chest for the first time I was amazed, there aren't words to describe it. It was one of the only times I say tears in my husband's eyes. The most awe inspiring experience of my life and I can't wait to experience it again when I give birth to my twin boys I'm expecting.

UnicornMummy - Well said!! "When they laid my daughter on my chest for the first time I was amazed, there aren't words to describe it." when I read this I imagined what it must be like to work in a hospital, assisting women in their birth. How amazing to see a woman's face when she holds her baby for the first time!!
