I have had "female" problems since I was 13, now 31. First started with ovarian cycts, then a confirmed diagnosis of endo at age 17. I have had numerous lap's, been chemically put through menopause, had nerve's taken out, even had my left tube and ovary removed because scar tissue adhered them to my pelvic bone. I can tell you (for me) it is very painful!! I used to mis 2-3 days week from work. I did not, however, have ANY problem conceiving! I have been on one type of birth control or another since age 13, and I was off it for about 3 weeks when I conceived my son. Having him really helped with me, I rarely have pain anymore, and am now pregnant with our second child.

I agree you should see a specialist. I've been through several doctors, mostly becuase I've had so many surgeries, there wasn't much more that could be done.

Good luck with everything, and I really hope it all works out!

Thanks everyone for your encouragement. I feel that we will have more children, it just seems to be taking longer this time. If we have not conceived within about 4 more months, we will be checking into why it's not happening. We just continue praying that it will happen and know it will in God's time.

I was told I had endometriosis when I was 20, my periods were a bit irregular but the main thing was the the same thing you described, feeling like I was getting my period a week or more before it came and they were quite heavy and painful when I finally got them, also had bad bloating and back ache. I had 2 laparoscopies to investigate and they did a curette each time the first one when I was 20 and the second one when I was 23. I thought that it may take a while to get pregnant, but it happened 2 months after the curette.

We had a healthy girl who is now 4 and a half. My periods were initially great after having her but after about 7 months they started to play up again, not as bad as before though.

When my daughter was 12 months old we started trying for our second child, we didn't think it would take too long after we fell in so fast with the 1st. It ended up taking 12 months and I had just been to doctors to get fertility tests done which came back fine.

My son is now 2 and I have just started to have issues with my periods again and have to have a laparoscopy again next month.

I don't think it would hurt for them to send you for a laparoscopy to check it out, they will do a curette while in there which could help to clean everything out and hopefully get pregnant quicker.

You should get your thyroid levels checked too, that can also affect getting pregnant.
