My husband and I are trying to pick out a boy name. We were at a family event about a yr ago now and the family was talking about baby names. We told the family what name we liked (even though we were not pregnant at the time) and the rest of the family told us what they liked. Well a few months passed and my husband's cousin got pregnant, she had a beautiful baby boy and named him the name we said we loved. Considering we only see that side of the family on holidays would it be rude if we still chose to name our son the name we liked over a yr ago or would that seem like we were copying them??

i dont think thats a big deal. if they knew you liked it then i dont think they will mind that much. my cousin (a boy) is named alex he is 8 months older then me and my parents named me alex also and there was no problem in the family so go for it! its your child!
