My grandma's niece's son who is 12-years-old had been diagnosed with cancer about a year ago. Two days ago my grandma told my mom that Hospice had to be called in after his chemo treatments. The family was told he might have six months to live. It's so sad to see a little child go through something like this. I'm not close with my mom's cousin or her kids but it is just horrible what he's going through. It's heartwrenching. For those of you who pray, please pray for him. His name is Derrick.

Have any of you ever had to deal with losing a child to cancer?

Yes my cousin died when he was two. He had Leukemia. It was hard on our family.

My niece died last October to cancer as well, leukemia....she was two years old. There is nothing anyone can say to comfort or make this better and seem fair. Because it's not. But if you pray then I'll assume that you believe in a higher power and plan for each and every life, and I'll tell you that the only comfort you'll find is believing it was part of the plan. It's cold and harsh...but I found a lot of comfort in knowing that there was a reason, even if I did not(and I still dont) know what that reason was.

On the other hand, I have had cancer a few times in my life, the second time I was told I had 6 months left to live. Yet here I still am. I got a miracle and it's not unheard of for others to get one as well.

No matter what the outcome is, just know it's what was meant to be. And it's perfectly alright to kick, scream, and cry your entire way through it.

Hi iluvandy!

Yes my 4 year old nephew Cameron has a Cancer brain tumor, He has only week`s to live, He will have passed away by his 5th birthday, November 20th. Its so heart breaking because i have always been so close to him. I pray for him even know im not religious, But i try.
And yes i will pray for derrick. Hope for the best x
