Re:bottle feeding By ShelbySAH 3 Months Ago If you speak to any Doctor or pediatrician they will tell you that breast feeding is the best way to bond with your child as well as give them the nutrients that they need. Most pediatricians will tell you to nurse your baby at least a year, but if you can longer that is great.
Some mothers are unable to breast feed due to lack of milk, work etc. So even if you can nurse for the first 6 weeks and then either pump or go to formula. I have personally nursed all 5 of my children and plan to nurse my 6th when he is born. My first baby I was working full time, my milk dried up at 3 months. The rest of my babies I nursed them a year or longer. As far as bottle feeding your baby one of the biggest problems is ear infections. This is not caused from the formula itself, but the way the baby is usually held while bottle feeding and the formula gets trapped in their ears from inside of the mouth. Also, bottle feeding can lead to cavities if you don't break your baby from the bottle at an early enough age. Most dentists will say 6 months to 1 year, they need to start a sippy cup. So I guess it depends on your doctors and how well you trust their judgements.

Re:bottle feeding By Lombardi 3 Months Ago yeah my doctor has told me that breast feeding is best, but im worried since i am still young there might be problems. my doctor has voiced a few concerns, but she said every thing should go well. also another concern is im currently still in school and my baby is due in four months. so i'm not sure its just i want the best for my baby as well as my husband. the cavity thing does concern me because my own mother bottle fed me and allowed it to continue till i was FOUR! which led to a mouth full of cavities. so I'm unsure of what to do.

Re:bottle feeding By ShelbySAH 3 Months Ago I was 19 when I had my first baby and breast feeding came so natural. Each women has to make that choice for her and her baby. I am a women that could not pump, so that is why my milk dried out at 3 months with my first baby.
I just made the choice that my baby came first and I changed my entire life around to accomadate them.

Re:bottle feeding By Beverly 3 Months Ago I bottled fed my 2 year old when she was born because I had had, we'll say and interesting C-section and I physically could not breast feed. Anyways we chose to bottle feed her and everything worked out fine. She never had an ear infection while on the bottle and we worked it out so that she was off of it by 1 or around there. She's also never set foot in a daycare which may or may not have had an effect on her health. Eventually, I would only give her milk in a bottle because I didn't want her finding a lost cup of old milk and drinking it
