I'm Jewish, and in my family we circumsize boys on the eighth day after birth at their naming ceremony. I'm expected to do this because of my religion, but I also believe in doing it because it's cleaner and more attractive for my baby boy. Men who are circumsized are less likely to get penile cancer and less likely to contract STIs, among other health benefits. I agree with Justins1favmom that uncircumsized penises are very unattractive. They are also not common where I am (West Coast) either. I had one boyfriend with one, and I thought it was so gross! It usually smelled bad
I have seen a lot of circumcisions performed, and they don't seem that bad. The baby does cry, but only until the Mohel gives the baby back to his Mom. Everything is sterile and it's done with the family all around. The Mohel has to be really careful and do it right because everyone is watching!
