Hey..
I know that pets are not allowed around babys for many reasons.I know that when my little girl is born weather shes in the moses basket in our room or in her cot in her room to keep the door shut so the cats cant get in to where she is. But when can i let my cats met my baby girl? I know someone who has a baby thats nearly 2 and they allow the cat near but the cat hardly goes in.So i got no info from them!

You may call me irresponsable but when my son was born we had cats and dogs and the cats and the dog were always around him, specially the dog, and he has always been an healthy kid but i think you should talk to the doctor and ask him that.

the cats are a suffocation risk because they like the smell of breastmilk and might jump right on top of the baby. they can be around her if supervised. it also depends on the temprament, my dog sleeps under the crib, because hes an old man and knows better. if the baby wakes and i dont hear right away he will give me a nudge.
