How can me being upset all the time affect the baby in me?

my mum used to tell me wen i was upset or stressing that it wasnt gud 4 the baby and the baby cud sense n pik up on it. my baby is a healthy 4yr old now. i was upset and angry most days during my pregnancy as my husband left me for a younger girl and i no it didnt harm my baby the only thing it affedted was sleep and blood pressure

Actually, your mother was corrcet. You mood can affect your baby. When we are very upset and worked up over something, it puts stress on our bodies. This stress is put on our babies too, obviously, because they are inside of us! The last thing you want to do when pregnant is put stress on your baby. This is why mothers are told to take it easy during pregnancy, and many are put on bed rest. You can't not get upset for 9 months, but try to remain as relaxed and calm as possible to create the best environment in which your baby can thrive.
